Hampi Queen’s Bath is a royal bathing complex built during the Vijayanagara rule. It’s a luxurious bath with a deep pool surrounded by arched corridors and projecting balconies. And it’s one of the finest examples of exquisite Indo-Islamic architecture.

Although this rectangular structure is somewhat plain on the outside, the interior is ornate and elaborate. Even though the place is called Queen’s Bath, it’s said to have been constructed for kings as well as queens to take baths.

Queen’s Bath is situated near the Royal Enclosure. And it’s a testament to the opulence of the Vijayanagara Empire, offering a glimpse into the royal lifestyle.

History of Queen’s Bath Hampi

Queen’s Bath in Hampi is over 500 years old. It’s believed to have been constructed by the Vijayanagara king Achyuta Raya to be used as the private bathing chamber of the king and his queens. However, now the building has lost its glory. The pool is lacklustre, and the floor is left with empty sockets that were used to support the pillars of a wooden canopy.
